Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2022
This week, in appreciation of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we welcomed Jess Meredith, Founder of Differing Minds, who came to talk with us in her session “Embracing Neurodiversity within Executive Search”.
Jess Meredith is a neurodiversity advocate, trainer and speaker, and parent to neurodiverse children. She is on a mission to create inclusive environments for those with neurological differences such as ADHD, autism and dyslexia, from schools to the workplace, and beyond.
Jess' social enterprise, Differing Minds, supports organisations to be more neuro-inclusive through training, consulting, coaching and more, to create the change needed more broadly in society by educating and empowering future generations.
We explored why different thinking styles are critical to business success and looked at:
- The benefits of neurodiversity in the workplace, such as innovation and problem solving, and thinking outside the box
- How to talk about neurodiversity using positive language
- How to support those with a neurological difference, including changes that could be made to standard application processes to eliminate bias
