London Life Sciences Week: High spirits, high stakes, and transatlantic connections!
What a phenomenal week! The Coulter Partners team is back from London Life Sciences Week and the Jefferies Global Healthcare Conference, energized by the atmosphere, insights, and connections made.
The Jefferies conference cemented its status as the premier life science event in Europe drawing 4,500 people from 50 countries. Despite a chilly few days at the Aldwych, the buzz was electric, and this growth creates a crucial eco-structure for networking and deal-making.
A key highlight was having our US-based CEO, Nick Green, join the team in London. His presence underscored the crucial nature of transatlantic collaboration and provided a fantastic opportunity to discuss how we support leadership needs across both US and European hubs.
The mood was defined by excitement and high energy, reflecting a sector pushing the boundaries of science and strategy.

Key Themes & Takeaways:
We heard discussions ranging from the spectacular scientific progress to the gritty realities of market strategy:
- Investment Dynamics: Private financing is opening up, but still favors hot areas. High spirits fueled by new financings and creative investor behavior.
- Scientific Breakthroughs: Spectacular progress in oncology, neurology, and I&I (Immunology & Inflammation).
- The GLP-1 Factor: The ongoing GLP-1 fervor and its influence on rising asset valuations.
- Dealmaking: Highly creative deals, M&A, collaboration structures, and navigating Phase 3 failure recovery.
- AI & Data: Continued dominance of data-driven research and AI in accelerating drug discovery.
- Market Mentality: Discussions emphasized the importance of cohesive boards and the striking difference between US and EU investor mentalities working around the board table.
Our Co-Hosted Reception at Somerset House
The centerpiece was our drinks and canapés reception at the stunning Somerset House. Co-hosted with Jefferies, this premier networking event was a fantastic collaboration with partners: Goodwin Life Science’s team, Citi Depositary Receipt Services, Danforth Health, and Toppan Merrill.
We were delighted to connect with so many leaders, investors, and innovators for an evening of strategic networking and discussion.
Thank you to our partners and everyone we met! We look forward to leveraging these insights to support companies in securing the leadership teams and boards crucial for tomorrow’s breakthroughs.
